A Few of our Favorites this Week

Happy weekend!

In case you missed it, Lilly Pulitzer has finally relaunched their swimsuit line! This one is my current favorite. I lived in these brightly-colored designs in college. They never seemed to fade, no matter how many beach trips we took to the South Carolina coast!

I also love these melamine plates by Terrain featured in banana leaf and tropical foliage prints. They’re perfect for entertaining on the patio or poolside. Can you tell I’ve got Florida on my mind?

Our incredibly talented friend Brian’s beautiful Federal-style renovation is up on Alexandria Living Magazine. Read more about his historic home here and check out his Instagram feed for fabulous inspiration.

Ikea announced that they’re coming out with an exclusive photography line that will launch this August.

I am a huge fan of rattan, so this post on 1st Dibs on ways to elevate rattan is a must-read.

For those of you who are fans of Marie Kondo’s book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, Netflix has announced a reality television show, which features Kondo tidying up people “at a crossroads.”

Enjoy this bright lime and blue Capitol Hill renovation. I’m packed and ready to move in!

What’s on the blog this week:

A strawberry smoothie for your weekend breakfast plans

The perfect vanilla cupcake with royal icing (in Mardi Gras colors here)

What’s coming up:

The Architecture & Design Film Festival is coming to Washington, D.C. on February 22nd. Mark your calendar for the opening reception and be prepared to see inspiring films about the movers and shakers who have transformed the landscapes in some of our favorite cities.

Hold the date for the Garden Club of Virginia’s 85th Historic Garden Week this April. You’ll be able to enjoy tours of almost 200 private homes and gardens across Virginia.

Cheers!
