A Tried and True Tabletop for Your Fall Events

Caspari is one of my favorite brands that I use all the time here on Magnolia Stripes. I’m so excited to share this fabulous fall tabletop with you that I partnered with Caspari on. It’s centered around one of their gorgeous new prints for the fall: Chinese Ceramic.

According to Caspari, Chinese Ceramic is a beautiful traditional floral adapted from a mid to late 18th-century chop dish. The original piece was made of classic enameled porcelain and was a Chinese export made for the French market.

I fell in love with the vivid colors of the pattern and its organic style. It’s the perfect centerpiece for this bright and fun fall tabletop!

For the backdrop, I used this white paper tablecloth, which not only looks and feels like cloth, but even drapes like it. Did I mention that it’s a steal at $12.50? I rolled their orange table runner right across it to add an extra pop of color.

I really wanted to have orange on orange, so I selected bright orange Gerbera daisies and Alstroemeria for my flower arrangements that ran up and down the bright orange table runner.

To anchor our tabletop, I pulled in these chic braided navy placemats. They served as a frame for each place setting. The candlesticks are a few pairs of my crystal candlesticks. They reflect light beautifully and were a perfect complement to the clear acrylic Caspari napkin rings and the clear glass vases holding our orange blooms.

I love that I can tie in my gold-rimmed china (and really any good basic white porcelain dinnerware) with these products. I used cobalt wine goblets to add a little pop – isn’t the color fabulous? They’re also acrylic, which means they’re a great versatile staple in your dinnerware arsenal. They can move from indoors to out in a breeze.

One of my favorite things about Caspari is that all of the prints and patterns are meant to mix and match. As y’all know, I’ve never met a color too bright or a pattern too bold to mix – and I knew I had to find one to go with Chinese Ceramic. I discovered Caspari’s Spots print in gold recently and fell in love with it as a neutral, so I used the linen dinner napkins to serve as a base for my Chinese Ceramic. The dinner napkins are thicker and have a wonderful, linen-like feel.

A little behind-the-scenes peek…I actually had a hard time deciding between these two place settings!

I ultimately went with the first one, but it was a tough call! To create the layered napkin look, I laid one of the Chinese Ceramic white luncheon napkins on top of a Spots dinner napkins and secured them with an acrylic napkin ring. So simple and such an elegant and fun look! I love how the traditional print of the Chinese Ceramic both matches and contrasts with the bold and modern acrylic napkin ring at the same time.

I added in the Chinese Ceramic cocktail napkins to anchor the glassware to tie in the gorgeous pattern even more – and because our guests are almost always greeted with a glass and a cocktail napkin when they arrive at our house!

I used the Chinese Ceramic paper salad and dessert plates to layer on top of our china dinner plates and create an added dimension to each place setting. These also make terrific appetizer plates if you’re serving cocktails and bites beforehand.

Next came the lighting. I chose Caspari’s tapered candles in Marine Blue for this tablescape. You can also buy them in a set of 12. I’m so happy to report that these are indeed drip-less candles! I’ve had a bad experience or two with tapered candles ruining my candlesticks and tablecloths. These were just wonderful.

Of course, I had to add a fun little element from my antique tableware collection. My mom brought this little foo dog home to me the last time she was in town and I thought he’d be a perfect addition to this tabletop. With a ribbon, naturally. I layered this gold braided ribbon onto a blue wired ribbon. It was a fantastic pop!

The die-cut place cards are one of my favorite elements in this tabletop. They are just gorgeous in person and pop right up. They’ll be a staple from here on out for so many of my future tablescapes!

With the finishing touches set, our pretty fall tabletop was ready for action!

The candles were lit and the tabletop shined beautifully! I love incorporating tall tapered candles to my tables. They add height and interest and there’s just something so cozy about candlelight. I almost always have at least one candle lit in our home.

Didn’t our little foo dog turn out so cute with the Caspari ribbons? Mixing old with new takes your table to the next level!

“Have a seat – the wine’s chilled!”
