Green and white is one of my all-time favorite palettes for summer entertaining. It’s probably because I collect lettuceware and use rattan and silver in most of my outdoor entertaining, but these colors truly make the perfect backdrop for almost any tablescape. Add a little lemon into the mix and you’re all set for a summer picnic!

For our Twilight Polo tabletop, I used this Kate Spade lemon tablecloth to go with toothpicks I found last summer at HomeGoods. My lemon cocktail napkins are some of my favorites from Caspari. I also sprinkled in some lemon wedge-shaped napkins I found at HomeGoods. You can find similar lemon wedge cocktail napkins here and here. These by Meri Meri are also adorable – and how fun are these lemon plates?

Our fabulous friends, Allie, Jen, Ryan, and Colin, brought fried chicken, dips served in hollowed-out bell peppers (aren’t they so fun?!), goat cheese and fig toast, and so many more goodies. We are all obsessed with Quicos you can find at Whole Foods. They’re crunchy corn and make the best bar snacks.

Truffle wedge cheese, and so many other delicious goodies were also a part of this picnic soiree.

My orzo pasta salad also made an appearance. It’s the best dish for outdoor entertaining because it can withstand hot temperatures without wilting. You can find the recipe for my easy orzo salad here. I added a vinaigrette salad dressing on the side for those who wanted a little more oomph. It’s always nice to have extra lemon wedges, sauce, or dressing when you’re serving picnic food to add a little brightness in the summer heat.

Pineapple toothpicks (similar here) were the perfect vehicles for our fruit and charcuterie platter. Our goat cheese stuffed dates are quite literally that. I used honey goat cheese and medjool dates. Simply remove the pit and fill with the goat cheese, then skewer and serve!

We stayed with our yellow, green, and white theme for our arrangement and opted for a bright bouquet of summer blooms.

Twilight Polo is truly one of the most fabulous ways to spend a Virginia evening! For this evening, we had a tailgate spot, which meant an area on the berm overlooking the arena. We were able to comfortably fit our folding table, six chairs, and had a bench that came with the spot right in front of us. If you have questions on what kind of tickets to purchase, hop over to this post.

Cheers to all of our friends who helped create a fabulous spread for our Twilight Polo picnic!
