I’m taking a break today from my usual posts to share one of my latest obsessions: J. Crew’s sweater-blazer. Also, I should note that this post isn’t sponsored. This is genuine love right here.

For the last few weeks, my friends, Allie and Sara, have both raved about this item. Even so, it wasn’t until I realized that spring in Europe is not exactly sunny and 80 degrees Fahrenheit that I decided to look into them. And, you guys, I am obsessed.

Another old J. Crew favorite: their everyday cashmere.

I should also mention that I was super skeptical at first of these sweater-blazers. I always keep an eye out for quality knits. Could these from J. Crew be as good as they seemed? The answer is yes.

Transitioning to Spring

They are the perfect transition pieces. I’m packing skinny dark jeans and white pants for our trip, along with a few dresses and these layer over them perfectly. I find myself packing in color palettes when I travel. The ivory, heather khaki, and black are in my suitcase now. They’ll be fabulous complements to my white tops, blouses, and Breton striped St. James tees (which I live in year-round).

Yesterday, I tried the heather khaki blazer over a white silk top and cropped white pants with a textured brown belt and it looked so stylish. The black blazer also looks oh-so-chic belted with a wide black belt (a Burberry one I snagged on The RealReal) over my cream and black spotted Kate Spade dress for dinner out.

The subtle pink sweater-blazer is also perfect for spring, especially over a blue-and-white striped button-down paired with white cropped pants. My fingers are crossed I can stuff that one into my carry-on as well.

The quality of these is fantastic. It’s a great knit that drapes beautifully. They look gorgeous over a sheath dress for work or paired with a button-down and black trousers.

I brought these sweater-blazers recently on our trip to Florida this spring and on our trip to France. I spill the beans on what all I packed to wear in both of those posts.

Sizing

I learned the hard way that they run a little large. I’m normally a small (size 4 in tops) and I sized down to an XS after having to return my first one.

If you’re on Ebates, be sure and activate it since it will get you additional cash back (I mean, why not, right?). If you’re not on Ebates, 1) you are missing out, and, 2) you can join today using this code. You get cash back shopping at stores you normally would, like J. Crew and Net-a-Porter. I love it.

Let me know what colors you end up with in the comments section below. Happy shopping, friends!
