I am seriously mad for plaid when it comes to this time of year. Those happy blocked patterns in different colors are so cheery and add a classic coziness to any holiday gathering.

Naturally, I had to find a way to incorporate this favorite pattern into our Christmas tree. I had a few gold berry picks from last year and picked up a few red ones this season at Michael’s (similar to these and these). They were the perfect backdrop for a little plaid pop.

I used a wired plaid ribbon and a metallic glitter wired red ribbon to tie it all together. I cut a few inches of the plaid ribbon and a few inches of the red ribbon, making sure I had enough to create a good bow with nice bow tails. I tied the plaid ribbon to the red one to create one long ribbon, then formed it into a bow.

Next, I layered the gold berry pick on top of the red berry pick and used my new red and plaid ribbon to fasten them together in a happy bow.

I love how it turned out! It’s such a festive way to add a little fun to a tree.
