I am so excited to share this tabletop with y’all. Why? Well! First, it’s very simple to pull together. Second, it’s perfect for this time of year when it’s fall but the weather just hasn’t quite made that transition yet. As a result, the feel of this tabletop is light and airy with a hint of what’s to come.

To make things easier to find, I’m sourcing all of the tablescape items at the bottom of the post.

Check out this post for a blue and white transitional tabletop I did last fall. I still get all sorts of inspiration from it!

One of my favorite parts of this tablescape is the crisp white dinner plates against the texture of the rattan chargers. Isn’t it a beautiful nod to the summer? It’s like that great cardigan in your closet that you throw over your favorite sundress when you’re just not ready to say goodbye to summer.

I always use big blooms of hydrangeas, so I wanted to branch out a bit for this end-of-summer tablescape. I saw a $2.99 bunch of eucalyptus while shopping at Trader Joe’s. It only took one bunch, making the entire arrangement for this tablescape under $5.00! Anyway, it’s like a light went off and this tabletop basically began setting itself after that find.

I set the arrangement next to my Cire Trudon candlesticks and realized they were as close to a color match as I could ever hope to get to. Perfection! It was meant to be. So, I moved my Waterford candlesticks into place around the vase, then added my favorite artichoke salt and pepper shakers (I am seriously obsessed with them).

The dinner plates and salad plates (I’ll link them at the end of this post under my tablescape sources) are part of a Williams Sonoma collection that I just love. The finishing touch to this tablescape is our beautiful vintage Christofle silver basketweave wine bottle holder. It’s one of my favorite, favorite, favorite pieces that I bought from my dear friend, Gray Antiques. The detail is incredible. And, having just gotten back from the Napa Valley, I had to add a fabulous red to the table. Cheers!

This tabletop is an incredibly simple one to pull together and carries an effortless elegance with it. It’s one that you can replicate over and over this season – just add a few pumpkins to the table and you’re all set for autumn!
