The Perfect Party Dip

As someone who’s been known to host a party or two, I am SO happy about today’s Magnolia in the Kitchen webisode with my friend, Heather!

Before we dive right in, I HAVE to share with you all an extremely important disclaimer: do not mix this dip in a silver bowl with a metal spoon – or any spoon for that matter (just to be safe). We learned this the hard way. It literally removes the tarnish from the bowl and transfers it into the dip.

We tasted the amazing dip in the video and it tasted just fine, but, after about five minutes, it turned and was literally inedible. SO. We’ve made the mistake so that YOU don’t have to. Mix it in a glass bowl or mixing bowl, then transfer it over to your serving dish, top it with jelly, and serve.

Ok, now on to the program…

Heather has been a wonderful friend of mine for ages (and since The Glover Park Book Club). A native of Richmond, VA, Heather is also a newlywed and a fellow blogger! I went to her with all sorts of random questions as I was starting Magnolia Stripes – and, let’s be real, I still do. She’s an expert and her blog is a fab resource for travel (I love her weekend getaways), style, home, beauty, and wedding. You’ve got to check it out!

When Heather told me the ingredients of what we were making on this webisode of Magnolia in the Kitchen, I was super skeptical. Mayo, bacon, cheddar, and…raspberry jelly?

Y’all. After tasting it (pre-bowl tarnishing, of course), I was converted instantly. There’s something about the salty and sweet combination that just keeps you going back for more. I always seem to get into a rut with party apps and end up bringing the same dips to everything. This one completely changes it up and I can’t wait to add it to my repertoire!

Heather’s Neiman Marcus Dip

What you’ll need:

1 cup Duke’s mayonnaise

2 cups shredded cheddar

8 strips of bacon, crispy and crumbled

1/3 cup sliced almonds

4 green onions, sliced

Salt and pepper

Raspberry jelly (to top)

Ritz crackers (to serve)

Now, to pull it all together…

Mix the mayonnaise, cheddar, bacon, almonds, and green onions in a bowl.

Season with salt and pepper.

Top with a layer of raspberry jelly.

Serve with Ritz crackers and prosecco. Enjoy!
