After a crazy week and loads of upcoming travel to plan for, we headed out this weekend to tailgate for a college football game at my hubby’s alma mater.

Thankfully, we organized our tailgate equipment and tabletop items a few weekends ago, so we loaded up our car and were ready to hit the road.

Here are the pieces we used:

maroon tablecloth

– turf table runner (similar here or you can make your own with this turf runner)

– our football field disposable stadium cups

– football platters and other assorted serving dishes and boards

– paper napkins and plates in the school’s colors

– one of our amazing disposable football wastebaskets

– a yellow penalty flag (similar here)

– maroon paper straws

– mums in the school colors (it helps that the colors are maroon and orange, which are common mum colors!)

– soft coolers to stow our items (but, how fun are these coolers?)

The assembly was such a breeze. Once the tablecloth was down, we layered on the turf table runner, then placed the serving dishes down here and there. Our tin container (linked several in this post) held extra plastic plates.

I dressed up the mums a bit with a few picks I found at Michael’s, like this turkey pick and a few of these berry picks in the team’s colors. Since we didn’t have containers for them, I wrapped our linen napkins around them loosely so they were a bit more presentable. Thinking on our feet, right?!

I can’t tell you guys how wonderful being organized is and what a difference it makes! This whole tailgate was set up in under 10 minutes, which meant we had that much more time to toast to the team with friends. Cheers!
