A Coffee Bar That Takes Minutes to Set up

Whenever we host a brunch, coffee is often the first stop for our guests – followed closely by a mimosa. Setting up a coffee bar is an easy way to free yourself up as the host or hostess and give your guests a chance to personalize their own morning cup. And to make it even better? It’s simple and quick to pull together.

Make sure you have a good selection of brews. We use our Keurig and French press for our daily coffee cravings. I’m a big fan of using our Keurig whenever we host because it’s so easy to have your guests select their coffee pod and the pods are already portioned out. It saves so much time and they’re very do-it-yourself. You can find just about any of your favorite brands and flavors in their K-Cups. I’m currently on a Pumpkin Spice kick – naturally. Try one of these pods if you have a favorite classic that doesn’t come in K-Cup size.

Our mugs are part of our basic white set. I actually found them a year ago at Williams Sonoma marked down to $2.50 apiece. I fell in love with the handle and bought up all of their stock – 15 mugs. Here are some similar mugs in a basic white. I knew I wanted to get them from Williams Sonoma since that’s where our white everyday china came from – that way the white shades all matched. I almost grabbed these clear double-walled mugs from them. They are fabulous!

Stock up on accoutrements. We use organic raw turbinado sugar on most days, but whenever we have guests over, we’ll make sure and get out the Stevia, Truvia, and a few packets of Splenda to accommodate our guests’ preferences. We also have an assortment of creamers – milk, cream, and a non-dairy option – when we’re hosting. I’m currently loving the Pumpkin Spice Almond Milk Creamer from Califa Farms.

Make sure you have stirring sticks and a small waste container for your guests to discard their sticks and sugar packets. I also set aside a small plate or bowl to collect used teaspoons. I found these fun swizzle sticks on Amazon and couldn’t be more excited to use them at our future fall events. Aren’t they the best?

Don’t forget the toppings. A little side of whipped cream, some frothed milk, baking sugars, blended cinnamon and sugar, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon – all of these are fun little add-on’s for your guests to top off their cup of Joe.

Add a few cookies and pastries on the side for dipping. Biscotti and lady fingers are perfect for dipping and fit elegantly on the side of a saucer or on a small appetizer plate. They’re a great “little something extra” on your coffee bar.

Serve with a chic cocktail napkin (the ones shown are old Caspari napkins) and your guests will be toasting to the host or hostess with the most!
