Can y’all believe it’s already March?! It seems unreal to me since I feel like an endless January was just yesterday. It’s been a crazy busy week between Junior League, book club, ballet – not to mention a hectic few days at the office.

Here’s what’s been going on this week…

1. On the blog. I have so many posts queued up for the next few days, but it’s been so wild that I just haven’t had the time to post them! I did share some of my favorite entertaining essentials that I’m stocking up on for the spring. You can read that post here.

2. What we’re up to this weekend. We’re off with some wonderful friends to one of my favorite spots and I couldn’t be more excited for a few days of rest, relaxation, and what’s sure to be a fantastic time.

3. A few girlfriends and I saw The Washington Ballet’s performance of Sleeping Beauty this week at the Kennedy Center and it was SO good. The costumes were beautiful, the footwork and choreography were breathtaking, and the leads were wonderful. I highly recommend going if you have time this weekend. There are performances through Sunday.

4. One of my favorite blogs to follow is The Glam Pad and I absolutely loved this recent post on the oldest house in Washington, DC. The home has such a story! It’s definitely worth a read (photo below is from The Glam Pad’s post).

5. I realized it when I was packing late, late, late Thursday that we are finally in that awkward time of the year when dressing and packing for trips is so difficult, especially in an area of endless winter (at least that’s what this Carolina girl calls Washington). My wardrobe colors want to transition to spring, yet somehow my brown riding boots and wool blazers just do not want to cooperate with the spring colors in my closet. Please tell me I’m not alone here. The result for this weekend is a little mix of fall with a hint of spring.

6. Something new. Guys. I tried Pho for the first time this week and I think I’m in love. First, I had no idea it was essentially a bone broth (which is supposed to be crazy healthy) with some fabulous toppings. Second, I didn’t know the portions were so generous. I literally ate one bowl for lunch and for dinner and still couldn’t finish it all. My friend, Jess, is a seasoned pho fan and took me to her favorite spot in Chinatown. I went with a sliced brisket in a beef broth with extra bean sprouts on her recommendation and it was terrific. It’s safe to say I’ll be back.

7. Our book club is reading Hamilton this month and I can’t wait to finally understand a bit more about what people are talking about when they say the musical is everything. Yes, I know it’s got to be different from the book by Ron Chernow, but I haven’t studied Hamilton since college and I can’t say I remember much. In the meantime, I’ll be racking my brain for some patriotic-themed appetizers to bring with me to book club later this month.

8. LK Bennett is one of my favorite brands and they’re running a sale right now – 25% off new arrivals and sale. Had to share this PSA with y’all.

9. If you’re looking for fun and easy decor for upcoming parties, Swoozie’s just released their Garden Party items and they are too much fun. Think die-cut placemats and Rifle Paper Co. disposables. Perfect for a cheeky and casual outdoor soirée.

10. I’ve been researching the “unkitchen” and – not to spoil it – I may end up doing a post on it to see what y’all think. It’s essentially a cleaner way to organize without as many upper kitchen cabinets. Stay tuned for more.

Happy weekend, friends!
