Happy New Year, friends! We kicked off 2019 with a black, gold, and silver tabletop festive enough for the Times Square Ball Drop and beyond.

I used a black sequin tablecloth layered over a black polyester one to serve as a backdrop. You may recognize them from our Halloween Masquerade! Silver chargers (similar here) anchored each place setting. Our everyday white dinner plates and scalloped salad plates were separated by white linen napkins with silver snowflakes that I scored at HomeGoods several months ago. Now is the time to go shopping for the 2019 holidays, friends!

My friend, Chloe, used these disposable glitter champagne flutes at our book club’s holiday party. After seeing them that night, I knew they’d become a staple at ours. I use real glass, crystal, and our china as often as I can, but when you’re expecting a crowd, it’s often difficult to accommodate everyone with glassware. I know that I often use an average of three glasses myself at a party. I’ll set one down to greet a guest, offer her a glass of wine, help her put up her coat, and locate a serving piece for the cookies she’s brought – and, by that point, I’ve lost my glass. Multiply that by how many guests you’re hosting and disposable glasses sometimes end up being the best choice. If you’re hosting a dinner party, that’s quite a different story, but for crowds, disposables are the way to go more often than not (unless you’re using a catering company, of course).

In lieu of flowers for the centerpiece, I opted for black taper candles in crystal candlesticks to tie in the black glittering tablecloth. Our confetti, headbands, and noisemakers came in a fabulous pack that we got as a gift from Pier One. I have to say that the confetti absolutely made our tabletop!

I nestled in a pair of my great-grandmother’s silver candlesticks for a special touch. I always love to incorporate sentimental pieces and antiques in my table settings. They are beautiful conversation pieces.

Cheers to a festive and fun 2019! It’s going to be a great one, guys. I can just tell!
